I have one DJ gig this week and it’s going to be a good one. On Thursday, March 16, Disco Heat, my weekly residency at Songbird in Chinatown, is happy to welcome special guest DJ Marcus from Tune in Tokyo. If you’re a city pop fan, this is the night to attend.
Marcus is a DJ, MC and show runner for Tune in Tokyo, the promotion team behind parties like Plastic City. You may have also seen him at Micky’s in West Hollywood, where he plays K-Pop once a month for QT Nightlife. For Disco Heat, Marcus will be playing a special set filled with city pop, kayokyoku and American funk and disco. I’m so excited to play alongside Marcus for the first time this Thursday and can’t wait to hear what he has in store.
In even better news, Disco Heat will be opening at 9 p.m. again, so that those who can’t stay out too late on a weeknight will have the opportunity to join us on the dance floor. This is a 21+ party and there’s no cover. RSVPs via Eventbrite are encouraged.
Songbird is located at 900 N. Broadway, #1050, Los Angeles 90012. You’ll find it in the courtyard of Blossom Plaza on the corner of Broadway and College in Chinatown. There’s lots of street parking available in the neighborhood. If you’re taking Metro, note that Songbird is right outside the L (Gold) Line stop in Chinatown.
Check out my Disco Heat playlist on Spotify to get ready for Thursday night. Hope to see you on the dance floor.
Catch Los Angeles-based DJ Liz O. at one of her upcoming gigs.
